2016 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 20 BY SENATOR ERDEY A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION To express the intent of the Legislature of Louisiana that the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, and the office of motor vehicles enforce laws that regulate glass tinting on motor vehicles and particularly on private passenger vehicles. WHEREAS, the Legislature of Louisiana has passed laws that regulate and control the tinting of glass on motor vehicles; and WHEREAS, R.S. 32:361.1 prohibits the operation of a motor vehicle with any transparent material placed upon or affixed to the front windshield or front side windows if the material alters the color or reduces the light transmission of the windshield or front side windows; and WHEREAS, R.S. 32:361.2 provides an exemption from the provisions of R.S. 32:361.1 for certain physical or medical conditions subject to compliance with requirements specified therein; and WHEREAS, R.S. 32:361.3 provides an exemption from the provisions of R.S. 32:361.1 for valid security reasons subject to compliance with requirements specified therein; and WHEREAS, enforcement of the provisions of R.S. 32:361.1, 362.2, and 362.3 is critical to the health, safety, and welfare of all citizens of this state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its specific intent that the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, public safety services, and the office of motor vehicles enforce laws that regulate glass tinting on motor vehicles and particularly on private passenger vehicles.
