SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 93

LEGIS POWERS/FUNCTIONS. Designates May 2016 as Missions Month in Louisiana.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To designate May 2016 as Missions Month in Louisiana.
3 WHEREAS, missionary activity is a response to the love with which God loves all
4 of His sons and daughters; and
5 WHEREAS, missionaries are committed to building a better world for all of God's
6 people so they may live a dignified and fulfilling life; and
7 WHEREAS, it is through missionary work that God's love is shown as the source of
8 care, tenderness, compassion, hospitality, and interest in the problems of others, and for
9 spreading charity around the world; and
10 WHEREAS, those who are called to missionary work are liberated by God's
11 forgiveness and propelled by His love to continually declare mercy and truth; and
12 WHEREAS, they are lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in
13 lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and
14 commitment to social involvement; and
15 WHEREAS, missionaries from Louisiana and throughout the United States are
16 dedicated to empowering others to show and tell the love of Christ through comforting the
17 brokenhearted, spreading the Gospel message, proclaiming freedom, and shining the light
18 of Jesus in the darkest of hearts.

1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
2 designate May 2016 as Missions Month in Louisiana.
