SLS 16RS-2733 ORIGINAL 2016 Regular Session SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125 BY SENATOR LAMBERT COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Lutcher High School Bulldogs football team on its 2015 Class 3-A State Championship. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the Lutcher High School football 3 team on an outstanding season and on its first place finish in the Louisiana High 4 School Athletic Association Class 3-A State Championship for 2015. 5 WHEREAS, the Lutcher High School Bulldogs completed a phenomenal winning 6 season with a district record of (7-0) and an overall record of (9-1) that included the LHSAA 7 playoffs final win on December 12, 2015, over district arch rival, the St. James High School 8 Wildcats, to cinch the state title for Class 3-A; and 9 WHEREAS, the momentum of team spirit and the caliber of coaching propelled 10 these stellar athletes high into the firmament of competitive high school sports; and 11 WHEREAS, under the lights at LHS stadium, fondly known as "The Dog Yard", 12 these athletes gave their all: Trevor Comardelle, Al'dontre Davis, Anthony Brown, Destin 13 Porter, Tharrin Maddie Jr., Dontell Johnson, Tylon Scott, Cameron Amato, Zane McCrary, 14 Jacoby Williams, Jontre Kirklin (named Most Valuable Player), Dylan Recotta, Samuel 15 Piazza, Sloan Brignac, Markwon Williams, Deante Kennard, Paul Joseph, Cowen Wiggins, 16 Rashaun Preston, Kendrick Jackson, Daevon Adams, Thaddeus Watis, Courtney Davis, 17 Christopher Burkhalter, Keiron Goudia, Devin Adams, Daylon Winnfield, Joshua Bergeron, 18 Ethan Bland, Mealey Rondell, Gabriel Bland, Jace Williams, Alec Bland, Calvin Domangue, Page 1 of 3 SR NO. 125 SLS 16RS-2733 ORIGINAL 1 Jeremiah Butler, Devin Schexnayder, Art Walker, Tyler Kirklon, Rowdy Scott, Raynel 2 Hayes, Devin Monica, Sully Laiche, Joshua Taylor, Kamron Malarcher, Brayden Bauer, 3 Bronson Himel, Jamal Thomas, Clarence Lotts, Hunter Theisges, Logan Walker, Kobe 4 Jones, Ben St. Pierre, Alvin Parnell Jr., Tyler Williams, Lamar Felton, Mack Lucas, Mason 5 Lambert, James Compare, Darrion Scott, Charles Chapman, Caleb Zeringue, Jamel Thomas, 6 Renard Phipps, Gregory Clayton, Norris Johnson, Tariq Belvin, Adrian Butler, and 7 Johnathan Bergeron; and 8 WHEREAS, Coach Detillier depended on the tenacity and focus of a highly skilled 9 staff that included assistant coaches and coordinators Cory Bourgeois, Kim LaCombe, Craig 10 Zeringue, Troy Johnson, Troy Borne, Mickey St. Pierre, Chad Carter, Brad Smith, Thomas 11 Bourgeois, Davey Clement, Scott Giardina, Robbie Ocmand, Kyle Latiolais, Terrance Jones, 12 Dave Giardina, and Matt Dornier; and 13 WHEREAS, LHS football is well supported in the community by the Lutcher High 14 School Athletic Booster Club, the oldest and largest organization of its kind with over two 15 hundred faithful members; and 16 WHEREAS, LHS teammates are inspired by years of competitive play and collective 17 participation from pee-wee, Pop Warner, and grade-school leagues all the way to the 18 conclusion of senior year and by traditional family relationships with alumni and former 19 players who were brothers, cousins, or friends; and 20 WHEREAS, it has been eight years since the Bulldogs have garnered a state 21 championship which makes a total of four titles under the tutelage of Coach Detillier, for 22 years 2003, 2006, 2008, and 2015; and 23 WHEREAS, Coach Tim Detillier, through his exemplary leadership, instilled 24 confidence in these student athletes to play to the best of one's ability and to display the best 25 characteristics of good sportsmanship and dedication to purpose; and 26 WHEREAS, on National Signing Day four seniors took the next step toward the 27 arena of collegiate play; the signees included Destin Porter, Tylon Scott, Sully Laiche, and 28 Ben St. Pierre, who shall continue to grow as athletes and individuals; and 29 WHEREAS, although Coach Tim Detillier retires with fond memories after 30 thirty-eight years in coaching and a lifetime career record of 266-112-0, he is assured that Page 2 of 3 SR NO. 125 SLS 16RS-2733 ORIGINAL 1 the work ethic and winning attitude of the Lutcher High School Bulldogs football team shall 2 continue the legacy of championships for years to come. 3 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 4 does hereby commend and congratulate the players and coaches of the Lutcher High School 5 football team on an outstanding season and its 2015 LHSAA Class 3-A State Championship. 6 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to 7 Coach Tim Detillier and Dr. Molly Stadalis, principal of Lutcher High School.
