Expresses condolences upon the death of James Lowell "Jimmy" Weber. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the 3 death of James "Jimmy" Lowell Weber. 4 WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber was born to Walter and Edalie "Sis" Pitre Weber on 5 April 18, 1940, and died on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the age of seventy-five; and 6 WHEREAS, Weber was a lifelong resident of Ossun, Louisiana, in Lafayette Parish, 7 near Scott, where he was raised with his siblings, Glenn, Wayne, Kenneth, and Connie; and 8 WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber spent his working career of thirty-six years with the 9 Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the engineering department; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, Weber was married to Virginia "Jenny" Pitre Weber of Lafayette, and 12 they made their family home in Ossun where they raised their five sons; and 13 WHEREAS, Jimmy was an especially devoted husband to Jenny and the two built 14 an ideal family life and were deeply committed to each other and that family until her death 15 in 2007; and 16 WHEREAS, Weber reveled in his big family, including, sons Troy and wife Monica, 17 Todd and wife Melanie, Ted and fiancé' Leitha Broussard, Thad and wife Melissa, and Ty 18 and wife Lucia; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 72 SLS 16RS-1568 ORIGINAL 1 WHEREAS, he was called "Poppy" by his loved ones, including grandchildren, Laci, 2 Blair, Lily, Isabel, Cody, Cole, Brett, Cameron, Matthew, George and Ethan and great- 3 grandchildren, Chloe and Karmin; and 4 WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber adored his family and although they both had careers 5 outside the home, he and Jenny always considered their children and their families to be their 6 life's work and were always there to offer congratulations, support and love when each was 7 needed; and 8 WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber died peacefully and a memorial mass was conducted at 9 Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, Louisiana, on April 12, 2016; and 10 WHEREAS, Weber spent his days enjoying his pets, spending time gardening, and 11 being an ardent follower of the endeavors of his children, grandchildren and great- 12 grandchildren; and 13 WHEREAS, Jimmy Weber lived a life of commitment and love and he leaves his 14 family and friends to cherish his memory and to continue to carry his love in their hearts. 15 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 16 does hereby express condolences upon the death of James "Jimmy" Lowell Weber. 17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 18 family of Mr. Weber.
