SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
BY SENATORS GATTI AND PEACOCK
COMMENDATIONS. Commends Christian Walden for his many accomplishments as a
wrestler at Airline High School.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Christian Walden for his achievements as a wrestler at Airline High School.
3 WHEREAS, Christian Walden is a junior at Airline High School in Bossier City,
4 Louisiana; and
5 WHEREAS, he has been a member of the wrestling team since he was a freshman;
6 and
7 WHEREAS, during his freshman year, Mr. Walden ended the season with an
8 impressive record of 40-7, was the parish champion, regional champion, finished in third
9 place in the Louisiana Division I State meet, and was named Freshman Brute Nationals
10 Champion; and
11 WHEREAS, during his sophomore year, he ended the season with a remarkable
12 record of 42-3, was the parish champion, regional champion, the Louisiana Division I State
13 champion, and placed seventh in the National High School Coaches Association All-
14 American competition; and
15 WHEREAS, as a junior, Mr. Walden finished the season with an outstanding record
16 57-4 and was, once again, the parish champion and the regional champion, and placed eighth
17 in the National High School Coaches Association All-American competition; and
18 WHEREAS, he was the champion at the Sooner State Games in Oklahoma, the Trey

1 Culotta Invitational in New Orleans, the Louisiana Classic tournament in Baton Rouge, and
2 was the runner-up in the Texas Outlaw Tournament in Allen, Texas; and
3 WHEREAS, in addition to his outstanding athletic ability, Mr. Walden maintains a
4 3.8 grade point average, scored a twenty on the American College Testing assessment, and
5 is a member of the National Honor Society; and
6 WHEREAS, Christian Walden is a talented Louisiana student who demonstrates
7 impeccable leadership and a commitment to excellence that is truly commendable, and
8 merits a sincere measure of commendation for the honor he brings to his school, his
9 community, and the state of Louisiana with his singular achievements as an athletic
10 competitor and his unwavering dedication to academic excellence.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
12 does hereby commend and congratulate Christian Walden on his outstanding
13 accomplishments as a wrestler at Airline High School and does hereby extend to him best
14 wishes for success and happiness in his future endeavors.
15 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
16 Christian Walden.
