Provides relative to persons designated to appear and testify before committees on behalf of an elected official. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To amend Senate Rule 13.78(B)(2) of the Rules of Order of the Senate, relative to 3 committee hearings; to provide for the testimony of a designee of an elected official 4 before a committee hearing. 5 BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana amends and 6 readopts Senate Rule 13.78(B)(2) of the Rules of Order of the Senate to read as follows: 7 Rule 13.78. Hearings; persons to be heard; sworn statement; designees of elected 8 officials; authority to compensate 9 B. * * * 10 * * * 11 (2)(a) Each person appearing before a committee shall identify himself and 12 the group, organization, or company he represents, if any. Before being allowed to 13 testify before the committee, he shall also be required to file with the committee 14 chairman or the committee secretary a sworn written statement in the form of a 15 signed witness card swearing or affirming that his testimony is true and correct. He 16 shall then be considered to be under oath while providing such testimony before the 17 committee.
