CLERKS OF COURT: Provides relative to group insurance expenses of the clerk of court
in Terrebonne Parish
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 13:783(F)(7), relative to group insurance expenses of the clerk
3 of court's offices; to provide for the Terrebonne Parish clerk of court's group
4 insurance expenses; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 13:783(F)(7) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:

11 (7) In the parishes of Avoyelles, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Cameron,
12 Franklin, Grant, LaSalle, Ouachita, Webster, and Winn, the clerk of court shall pay,
13 from the clerk's salary fund, one hundred percent of the premium costs of the group
14 life and accidental death and dismemberment, group health, accident, dental,
15 hospital, surgical, or other medical expense insurance for any employee that retires
16 from the Avoyelles Parish clerk of court's office, Bossier Parish clerk of court's
17 office, the Caddo Parish clerk of court's office, the Caldwell Parish clerk of court's
18 office, the Cameron Parish clerk of court's office, the Franklin Parish clerk of court's
19 office, the Grant Parish clerk of court's office, the LaSalle Parish clerk of court's
20 office, the Ouachita Parish clerk of court's office, the Terrebonne Parish clerk of

1 court's office, the Webster Parish clerk of court's office, or the Winn Parish clerk of
2 court's office who is entitled to receive monthly benefits from the Louisiana Clerks'
3 of Court Retirement and Relief Fund, who has at least twenty years of full-time
4 service with the clerk of court's office in Avoyelles Parish, Bossier Parish, Caddo
5 Parish, Caldwell Parish, Cameron Parish, Franklin Parish, Grant Parish, LaSalle
6 Parish, Ouachita Parish, Terrebonne Parish, Webster Parish, or Winn Parish, and
7 who is at least fifty-five years of age. The provisions of this Paragraph shall not
8 apply to any other insurance, such as supplemental insurance, that an employee may
9 elect to purchase.

Present law provides for parishes which require the clerk of court to pay from the clerk's

Proposed law adds Terrebonne Parish to those parishes which require the clerk of court to
pay from the clerk's salary fund certain insurance costs for qualified employees.
