WILDLIFE & FISHERIES: Changes the name of the "Quail Unlimited" prestige license
plate to the "Quail Forever" prestige license plate
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.46(Section Heading) and (C)(2) and R.S.
3 56:10(B)(6)(b)(ii) and (10), relative to the Quail Unlimited prestige license plate; to
4 rename the "Quail Unlimited" prestige license plate; and to provide for related
5 matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.46(Section Heading) and (C)(2) are hereby amended and
8reenacted to read as follows:
9 §463.46. Special prestige license plates; Louisiana Quail Unlimited Forever plate

13 (2) Five percent of the net proceeds from the twenty-six dollar fee imposed
14 by Subsection B of this Section shall be used to promote the existence of the
15 Louisiana Quail Unlimited Forever prestige license plate and its availability for use
16 on passenger vehicles.

12 (ii) Five percent of the net proceeds derived from the fifty dollar fee imposed
13 by R.S. 47:463.46(B) for the Louisiana quails unlimited Quail Forever prestige plate
14 shall be used to promote the existence of the Louisiana quails unlimited Quail
15 Forever prestige plate and its availability for use on passenger cars, pickup trucks,
16 recreational vehicles, and vans.

18 (10) There is hereby created within the Conservation Fund a special account
19 known as the "quail account" which shall consist of those revenues collected from
20 the sale of the quail unlimited Louisiana Quail Forever license plates provided for
21 in R.S. 47:463.46. The revenues shall be subject to the same requirements as
22 provided for other revenues placed in the Conservation Fund in Paragraph (1) of this
23 Subsection. The funds in this account shall be used solely for the purpose of
24 conserving, restoring, and enhancing quail habitat in Louisiana.

Abstract: Changes the name of the "La. Quail Unlimited" prestige license plate to the "La.
Quail Forever" license plate.
Present law creates the La. Quail Unlimited prestige license plate for an additional $26
charge. Provides that the additional $26 be credited to the quail fund within the
Conservation Fund. Authorizes 5% of the revenue from the sale of the La. Quail Unlimited
prestige license plate to be used to promote further sales of the license plates.
Proposed law changes the name of the license plate from the "La. Quail Unlimited" plate to
the "La. Quail Forever" license plate.
