MILITARY AFFAIRS/NATL GD: Provides relative to disability benefits of Louisiana
National Guardsmen
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 29:26.1(C)(1), relative to applications for death or disability
3 benefits; to provide for the submission of claims for disability benefits; and to
4 provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1. R.S. 29:26.1(C)(1) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 §26.1. National Guard death and disability benefits

9 C. Claims for benefits. (1) All claims for death or disability benefits
10 provided for under this Section shall be submitted to the Louisiana National Guard.
11 All claims for disability benefits shall be submitted to the Louisiana Department of
12 Veterans Affairs.

Present law provides that all claims for death and disability benefits shall be submitted to
the La. National Guard.
