TOURISM/COMMISSION: Provides relative to the West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist
Commission
1 AN ACT
2To enact R.S. 33:4574(F)(10), relative to the West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist Commission;
3 to provide for changes to the membership of the commission; and to provide for
4 related matters.
5 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published
6 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of
7 Louisiana.
8Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 33:4574(F)(10) is hereby enacted to read as follows:

14 (10) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraph (1) of this Subsection, the
15 West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist Commission shall be governed by a board of
16 directors composed of nine members. The two additional members provided for by
17 this Paragraph shall be appointed as follows:
18 (a) One member shall be appointed by the board of directors of the
19 commission.

1 (b) One member shall be appointed by the governing authority of West
2 Baton Rouge Parish.

4 Section 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:4574(F)(1)(b)(ii), the
5governing authority of West Baton Rouge Parish may set initial terms of less than three
6years for the two additional members of the tourist commission provided for in R.S.
733:4574(F)(10) as enacted by this Act.

Abstract: Provides for changes to the board of directors of the West Baton Rouge Parish
Tourist Commission.
Present law provides that the governing authority of any parish may form and create a tourist
commission. Specifically creates certain tourist commissions including the West Baton
Rouge Parish Tourist Commission composed of all the territory in West Baton Rouge Parish.
Provides that, unless provided otherwise, a commission shall be governed by a board of
seven directors to be appointed by the governing authority of the parish.
Proposed law provides that the West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist Commission shall be
governed by a board of nine directors. Further provides that the additional members
provided for by proposed law shall be appointed as follows:
(1)One member shall be appointed by the board of directors of the tourist commission.
(2)One member shall be appointed by the governing authority of West Baton Rouge
Parish.
Proposed law otherwise retains present law.
