Abstract:  Provides for changes to the board of directors of the West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist
Commission.
Present law provides that the governing authority of any parish may form and create a tourist
commission. Specifically creates certain tourist commissions including the West Baton Rouge Parish
Tourist Commission composed of all the territory in West Baton Rouge Parish. Provides that, unless
provided otherwise, a commission shall be governed by a board of seven directors to be appointed
by the governing authority of the parish.
Proposed law provides that the West Baton Rouge Parish Tourist Commission shall be governed by
a board of nine directors.  Further provides that the additional members provided for by proposed
law shall be appointed as follows:
(1)One member shall be appointed by the board of directors of the tourist commission.
(2)One member shall be appointed by the governing authority of West Baton Rouge Parish.
Proposed law otherwise retains present law.
