HOUSE BILL NO. 26

PROPERTY/PUBLIC:  Authorizes the transfer of certain property near Spanish Lake in
Iberia Parish
1	AN ACT
2To authorize and provide for the transfer of certain state property; to authorize the transfer
3 of certain state property in Iberia Parish; to provide for the property description; to
4 provide for reservation of mineral rights; to provide terms and conditions; to provide
5 an effective date; and to provide for related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  The commissioner of administration through the Office of State Lands,
8notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, is hereby authorized and
9empowered to convey, transfer, assign, lease, or deliver any interest, excluding mineral
10rights, the state may have to all or any portion of the following described parcel of property
11to James A. Holleman:
12	The two hundred acres located in Ward 1of the Parish of Iberia, Sections 39
13 and 40, Township 11 South, Range 6 East and Section 56, Township 12 South,
14 Range 6 East.
15 Section 2.  The commissioner of administration through the Office of State Lands is
16hereby authorized to enter into such agreements, covenants, conditions, and stipulations and
17to execute such documents as necessary to properly effectuate any conveyance, transfer,
18assignment, lease, or delivery of title, excluding mineral rights, to the property described in
19Section 1 of this Act, and as more specifically described in any such agreements entered into
20and documents executed by and between the commissioner of administration and James A.
21Holleman, in exchange of consideration proportionate to the appraised value of the property.

1 Section 3.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
2signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
3by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If
4vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
5effective on the day following such approval.
