MTR VEHICLE/LICEN PLATES: Creates the "Acadiana High School" special prestige
license plate

2To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.73(G), relative to motor vehicle special prestige license
3 plates; to provide for the "Acadiana High School" special prestige license plate; to
4 provide for the creation, issuance, design, fees, distribution, and rule promulgation
5 applicable to such license plates; to provide an effective date; and to provide for
6 related matters.
7Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.73(G) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
9 ยง463.73. Special prestige license plate; Louisiana parochial, public, and private high
10 schools

12 G. The secretary shall establish special prestige license plates for Archbishop
13 Hannan High School, Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of
14 the Sacred Heart, Saint Katharine Drexel Preparatory School, Acadiana High School,
15 and any other parochial, public, or private Louisiana high school in accordance with
16 the provisions of this Section as it was enacted.
17 Section 2. The provisions of this Act shall become effective on January 1, 2018.

Abstract: Creates the "Acadiana High School" special prestige license plate.
Present law provides for the creation of special prestige license plates for Louisiana
parochial, public, and private high schools, including Archbishop Hannan High School,
Jesuit High School, Mount Carmel Academy, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, and Saint
Katharine Drexel Preparatory School.
Proposed law adds Acadiana High School to the list of high schools for which a special
prestige license plate will be established. Additionally, all present law provisions applicable
to special prestige license plates; such as creation, issuance, design, fees, distribution, and
rule promulgation, are applicable to the "Acadiana High School" plate.
Effective Jan. 1, 2018.
