HIGHWAYS:  Designates a portion of Highway 171 in Anacoco, La., as the "Sergeant
James Edward Martin Memorial Highway".
DIGEST
Redesignates a portion of US 171 in Anacoco as the "Sergeant James Edward Martin
Memorial Highway".
Provides that in the event of a conflict with present law (Acts 2003 R.S., No. 75), this
designation shall supercede.
Directs the DOTD to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this highway
redesignation, provided local or private monies are received by DOTD to fabricate and
install the signs equal to the department's actual costs, not to exceed $550 per sign.
Effective August 1, 2017.
Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation,
Highways and Public Works to the original bill:
1. Make technical changes.
2. Add that this designation shall supercede the previous designation of this portion
of U.S. Hwy. 171 in Act 75 of the 2003 Regular Session.
