HB 291 Engrossed	2017 Regular Session	Danahay
Abstract: Authorizes the governing authorities of Calcasieu Parish and Cameron Parish to increase
the per diem paid to members of the board of commissioners of the Calcasieu Cameron
Hospital Service District.
Present law generally provides that hospital service districts are governed by a board of five
commissioners. Provides that the governing authority of the parish in which the district is located
may permit payment of a per diem to each member of the commission in an amount of not less than
$25 nor more than $40 for attendance at meetings, not to exceed 12 meetings per year.
Present law provides that the maximum per diem for the Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Service
District is $100. Proposed law increases the maximum per diem for that district to $300; otherwise
retains present law.
