Abstract: Provides with respect to surrenders of children for adoption by the Dept. of Children and
Family Services.
Present law requires that an agency accepting a surrender for adoption be issued a license by the
Dept. of Children and Family Services.
Proposed law allows the Dept. of Children and Family Services to also accept surrenders, in addition
to the agencies licensed by the department.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
