R.S. 37:2159.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 7 ยง2159.1. Notification of license number and classification; evidence of required 8 insurance 9 A. Any person required to be licensed under the provisions of this Chapter 10 shall provide, in writing, to the party with whom he has contracted to perform 11 contracting services his contracting license number, classification, and certificates 12 evidencing the amount of workers' compensation and liability insurance maintained, 13 whether or not such information is requested by the contracting party for whom the 14 work is to be performed. 15 B. Failure of the contractor to comply with the provisions of this Section shall 16 be deemed a willful failure to comply with the provisions of this Chapter pursuant 17 to R.S. 37:2158(A)(3). Proposed law requires a contractor to provide his license number, classification, and evidence of insurance to the contracting party for whom the work is to be performed, and further provides that failure to comply with proposed law shall subject the contractor to penalties under present law.
