Abstract: Reallocates money derived from the Support Our Troops special prestige license plate
to be placed in the La. Military Family Assistance Fund.
Present law provides for funds received pursuant to present law to be deposited to the La. Military
Family Assistance Fund.
Proposed law adds the revenue derived from present law to the funds deposited in the La. Military
Family Assistance Fund.
Present law provides that the Support Our Troops special prestige licenses plate bear the logo of a
soldier and child developed by Support Our Troops Inc. and contain the words "Support Our
Troops".
Proposed law removes the requirement that the plate contain the Support Our Troops, Inc. logo and
requires the plate only contain the words "Support Our Troops".
Present law provides that application for the special prestige license plate constitutes prior consent
to provide the name, address, and birth date of the applicant to Support Our Troops, Inc.
Proposed law modifies present law such that application for the special prestige license plate on or
after Jan. 1, 2018, constitutes prior consent to provide the name, address, and birth date of the
applicant to the La. Military Family Assistance Board.
Present law provides that the $25 fee for the plate be forwarded to Support Our Troops, Inc.
Proposed law modifies present law by requiring the $25 fee be forwarded to the La. Military Family
Assistance Fund.

The Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation, Highways and
Public Works to the original bill:
1. Add that an application for the plate on or after Jan. 1, 2018, constitutes prior consent to provide the name, address, and birth date of the applicant.
