Abstract:  Modifies the appointments to the Greater Baton Rouge Airport Authority board of
commissioners.
Present law creates the board of commissioners of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport Authority
composed of 13 members.
Proposed law adds two members to the board of commissioners of the Greater Baton Rouge Airport
Authority, increasing the membership from 13 to 15 members.
Present law requires that nine of the members of the commission be from East Baton Rouge Parish
and appointed by the authority, one member of the commission be the state senator representing
Senate District No. 14 or his designee, one member of the commission be the state senator
representing Senate District No. 15 or his designee, one member of the commission be the state
representative representing House District No. 63, or his designee, and one member of the
commission be the state representative representing House District No. 64.
Proposed law retains present law and adds the state representative representing House District No.
29, or his designee, and the mayor-president of the city of Baton Rouge, parish of East Baton Rouge,
or his designee, as members of the commission.
Present law specifies that appointments to the board are at the direction of the legislator. Further
specifies that a legislator may only have one designee at a time.
Proposed law expands present law provisions to also apply to the mayor-president.
