Requires the governing authority of a municipality or parish to submit an application to the office of engineering if a disaster declaration has been issued by the governor for that municipality or parish. Present law requires the La. Geological Survey to review and revise the statewide flood information data base at least once very four years. Proposed law modifies present law by changing the time frame from once every four years to once every three years. Proposed law provides that if the La. Proposed law allows the committee to request the governing authority of the La. Geological Survey withhold appropriations to the survey until the review and revisions are complete. Present law provides that any duly authorized municipal, parish, or other governing authority may submit an application for funding of any flood-control projects under the Statewide Flood Control Plan to the office of engineering by October 1 st of each year. Proposed law provides that if a disaster declaration has been issued by the governor for a municipality or parish, the governing authority of that municipality or parish must submit an application as provided for in present law by October 1 st of the year following the declaration.
