Abstract: To provide for the appointment of the board of commissioners of St Landry Parish
District Five and Six Road Commissions
Present law provides that each member of the board of commissioners of the St. Landry Parish
District Five Road Commission shall be appointed from each of the 13 precincts of police jury
district five.
Proposed law provides that after August 1, 2017, each member of the board of commissioners of the
St. Landry Parish District Five Road Commission shall be appointed from the current number of
precincts within police jury district five.
Present law provides for 2 year terms for members of the St. Landry Parish District Five Road
Commission board of commissioners.
Proposed law provides that no member of the board of commissioners may serve more than 2
consecutive 4 year terms after which they may be reappointed 4 years from the end of their last
consecutive term.
Present law provides that each member of the board of commissioners of the St. Landry Parish
District Six Road Commission shall be appointed from each of the 6 precincts of police jury district
six.
Proposed law provides that after August 1, 2017, each member of the board of commissioners of the
St. Landry Parish District Six Road Commission shall be appointed from the current number of
precincts within police jury district six.
Present law provides for 2 year terms for members of the St. Landry Parish District Six Road
Commission board of commissioners.
