COMMENDATIONS: Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable John M.
Schroder, Sr., for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions
to his district and the state
1 A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable John M. Schroder, Sr., and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to District No. 77 and the state of Louisiana, particularly
4 during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, John Schroder is a public servant whose excellence as a state
7representative has merited his reelection to office twice since his initial election in 2007, and
8he has fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an
9honorable and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Schroder graduated from East Jefferson High School,
11received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Southeastern Louisiana
12University, and is a businessman and a veteran of the United States Army; and
13 WHEREAS, sworn in on January 14, 2008, Representative Schroder, who is a
14member of the Louisiana Republican Delegation, has served with great diligence as a
15member of the House Committee on Appropriations, the House Committee on House and
16Governmental Affairs, the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, the House Select
17Committee on Homeland Security, which he also chaired, the Special Committee on Military
18and Veterans Affairs, the House Executive Committee, the House Committee on
19Administration of Criminal Justice, the House Committee on Civil Law and Procedure, the

1House Committee on Education, and the Subcommittee on Business Development of the
2House Committee on Appropriations; and
3 WHEREAS, as chairman of the Postsecondary Education Subcommittee of the
4House Committee on Appropriations, Representative Schroder has provided highly effective
5leadership as this subcommittee has worked with steadfast determination under his direction
6to address the challenging fiscal issues facing postsecondary education in the state today;
7and
8 WHEREAS, as he prepares to begin the next exciting and productive chapter of his
9life, Representative Schroder merits a sincere measure of commendation for his singular
10contributions as an exceptional member of the Louisiana House of Representatives.
11 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
12Legislature of Louisiana hereby commends the Honorable John M. Schroder, Sr.; hereby
13extends honor and recognition to him for his outstanding accomplishments, particularly
14during his tenure as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, which has been
15marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve the welfare of his constituents in
16District No. 77 and the citizens of the state of Louisiana; and hereby pays tribute to him for
17the generous and effective way in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to
18the service of his family, friends, community, and state.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
20to John M. Schroder, Sr.
