ACT 320 (SB 101) 2017 Regular Session Riser
Prior law authorized the issuance of military honor license plates to veterans and other
military personnel.
New law authorizes the holder of a military honor license plate issued under prior law in the
event the motor vehicle registration system of the office of motor vehicles is re-engineered,
or other technology is otherwise made available to the office of motor vehicles, to apply for
and requires the deputy secretary of public safety to issue a military honor license plate with
an identical number for use on an applicant's motorcycle and boat trailer without payment
of any additional license tax or fee.
New law requires the deputy secretary of public safety to adopt necessary rules and
regulations to implement its provisions.
Effective August 1, 2017.
