SB 116 Reengrossed 2017 Regular Session	Mills
Proposed law establishes the Work Out Now: WON Louisiana Legislative Commission to address
the obesity crisis at the local level. Further provides that the commission shall be composed of 12
members as follows:
(1)Two members who serve on the Senate Committee on Health and Welfare, one who shall be
the chairman and one additional member to be selected by the chairman.
(2)Two members who serve on the Senate Committee on Local and Municipal Affairs, to be
selected by the chairman.
(3)Two members who serve on the Senate Committee on Education, to be selected by the
chairman.
(4)Two members who serve on the House Committee on Health and Welfare, to be selected by
the chairman.
(5)Two members who serve on the House Committee on Municipal, Parochial and Cultural
Affairs, to be selected by the chairman.
(6)Two members who serve on the House Committee on Education, to be selected by the
chairman.
Proposed law provides that, unless reauthorized by the legislature, the provisions of proposed law
will expire on July 1, 2020, and is deemed repealed on that date.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
