Present law provides that armed robbery is the taking of anything of value belonging to another from
the person of another or that is in the immediate control of another, by use of force or intimidation,
while armed with a dangerous weapon.  Present law provides that whoever commits the crime of
armed robbery shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than 10 years and for not more than 99
years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. 
Proposed law provides that when an armed robbery or attempted armed robbery is knowingly and
intentionally committed upon a drivers-sales worker while the worker is going to, at, or returning
from a delivery, the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for twice the stated mandatory
minimum for the offense without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. 
Proposed law provides that when an attempted armed robbery is knowingly and intentionally
committed upon a drivers-sales worker while the worker is going to, at, or returning from a delivery,
the offender shall be imprisoned at hard labor for twice the stated mandatory minimum for the
offense without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
