(gov sig) 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 47:463.60(B), relative to special prestige license plates; to 3 provide with respect to the "Animal Friendly" prestige license plate; to provide for 4 an increase of the annual royalty fee; to provide for an effective date; and to provide 5 for related matters. 6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 7 Section 1. R.S. 47:463.60(B) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 8 ยง463.60. Special prestige license plates; "Animal Friendly" prestige license plate; 9 animal population control; Pet Overpopulation Fund 10 * * * 11 B. The annual fee for this prestige license plate shall be a royalty fee of 12 twenty-five thirty-five dollars to be distributed as provided in this Section and a 13 handling fee of three dollars and fifty cents to be retained by the department to offset 14 a portion of administrative costs. DIGEST SB 239 Original 2017 Regular Session Morrell Present law provides for special prestige license plates for automobiles, including the "Animal Friendly" prestige license plate. Present law provides for a $25 annual royalty fee and distributes the avails of the royalty fee each quarter to the Pet Overpopulation Advisory Council. Proposed law increases the annual royalty fee to $35. Effective upon signature of the governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
