1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 46:2626(I)(5), relative to emergency ground ambulance service
3 providers; to provide for a definition; to provide for an effective date; and to provide
4 for related matters.
5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 46:2626(I)(5) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
7 ยง2626. Fees on emergency ground ambulance service providers; disposition of fees

9	I. For purposes of this Section, the following definitions apply:

11	(5) "Emergency ground ambulance service provider" means a private, for
12 profit, nonpublic, nonfederal provider of emergency ground ambulance service that
13 is contracted with a unit of local or parish government of Louisiana for the provision
14 of 911 emergency ground ambulance transportation on a regular twenty-four hours
15 per day and seven days per week basis services.

17 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not

1 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
2 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
3 vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become
4 effective on the day following such approval.

ambulance service provider to include only nonpublic, nonfederal providers.
