INSURANCE DEPARTMENT.  Provides relative to license fees for viatical settlement
providers and insurance claims adjusters. (8/1/17)
1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 22:821(B)(19)(c) and to enact R.S. 22:821(B)(23)(d), relative
3 to fees collected in advance by the commissioner of insurance; to provide for license
4 fees for viatical settlement providers and insurance claims adjusters; and to provide
5 for related matters.
6 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1.  R.S. 22:821(B)(19)(c) is hereby amended and reenacted and R.S.
8 22:821(B)(23)(d) is hereby enacted to read as follows:
9 ยง821. Fees

Present law provides for a license fee for a first time viatical settlement provider of
$1000.00.
Proposed law retains present law and provides an annual renewal fee of $500.00 for viatical
settlement providers.
Present law provides for fees for claims adjuster licenses and registrations.
Proposed law retains present law and provides for a $50.00 fee per license for failure to
timely file and adjuster license renewal.
Effective August 1, 2017.
