ROADS/HIGHWAYS. Designates portions of certain state highways in memory of certain
police officers. (8/1/17)
1 AN ACT
2 To provide relative to state highways; to designate a portion of United States Highway 425
3 in the unincorporated community of Chase, in Franklin Parish, as the "Trooper
4 Bobby Smith Memorial Highway"; to designate a portion of United States Highway
5 165 near the town of Sterlington, in Ouachita Parish, as the "Officer David Elahi
6 Memorial Highway"; and to provide for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1. That portion of United States Highway 425 between Stokes Bayou
9 (structure number 0260612911) and Louisiana Highway 1242 in the unincorporated
10 community of Chase, in Franklin Parish, is hereby designated as the "Trooper Bobby Smith
11 Memorial Highway".
12 Section 2. That portion of United States Highway 165 between Louisiana Highway
13 134 and a point two and one-half miles south of Louisiana Highway 134 near the town of
14 Sterlington, in Ouachita Parish, is hereby designated as the "Officer David Elahi Memorial
15 Highway".
16 Section 3. The Department of Transportation and Development is hereby directed to
17 erect and maintain appropriate signs of these designations.
