DIGEST SB 84 Original 2017 Regular Session Peacock Present law provides that a list of names and addresses to whom address confirmation notices are sent and whether or not each person responded to the confirmation notice will be maintained for a period of two years and will be open to inspection and copying as provided by present law. Present law provides that 90 days prior to a regularly scheduled federal primary election, the names and addresses of those persons on the inactive list will be published for one day in the official journal of the parish governing authority or in a newspaper calculated to provide maximum notice in the parish. Proposed law provides that the Department of State will make the names and addresses of the persons on the inactive list available on the official Internet website or portal of the department. Proposed law provides that notice of the listing on the official Internet website or portal will be published in the official journal of the parish or the newspaper that will provide maximum notice.
