SLS 17RS-1790 ORIGINAL 2017 Regular Session SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 103 BY SENATOR WHITE COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Central High School Wildcats baseball team and its coaches upon winning the Class 5A boys' state baseball championship. 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2 To commend the Central High School Wildcats baseball team and its coaches upon winning 3 the Class 5A boys' state baseball championship. 4 WHEREAS, it is with great pride that the citizens of Louisiana have learned of the 5 Class 5A boys' state baseball championship title earned by the Central High School 6 Wildcats; and 7 WHEREAS, this championship title is the first state title in baseball for Central High 8 School since 1996; and 9 WHEREAS, in the championship game the Wildcats defeated the nationally number 10 one ranked West Monroe Rebels to claim the Class 5A title with a score of 4-2; and 11 WHEREAS, the Wildcats roster includes: Quint Guerin, Makhail Hilliard, Sam 12 Kenereson, Travis Dowden, Brant Husser, Joseph Schopp, Hunter Hervert, Hunter Arnold, 13 Drew Lasseigne, Triston Monte, Andrew Harris, Sam Stafford, Brady Jones, Carson 14 Balthazar, Cade Kimbrell, Chapman Lowrance, Grant Mayers, Lakendrick Paul, Todd 15 Lasseigne, RJ Coffee, Connor Heyl, Dalton Aspholm, Eddie Pezant, Shamar Henry, Andrew 16 Myrick, Brant Chauvin, Max Bryant, and Hunter Edwards; and 17 WHEREAS, Coach Mike Forbes, along with assistant coaches Brian Brown, Ricky 18 Creel, Antonio Ragusa, Hunter Edgens, and Clay Polk, instilled in the players the winning Page 1 of 2 SCR NO. 103 SLS 17RS-1790 ORIGINAL 1 attitude that comes from hard work, determination, and skill; and 2 WHEREAS, the amazing performance of the team throughout the regular season and 3 postseason was made possible with the assistance and encouragement of their families, other 4 students, and the citizens of Central; and 5 WHEREAS, the members of the legislature wish to recognize each extraordinary 6 member, coach, and manager of the Wildcats baseball team who have contributed to the 7 success of the Wildcats baseball program and to commend them on their much deserved 8 championship title earned through teamwork, determination, perseverance, and dedication 9 to the sport. 10 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 11 commend and congratulate the Central High School Wildcats baseball team on an 12 outstanding and memorable season and on capturing the state Class 5A championship. 13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 14 principal of Central High School.
