SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 44

COMMENDATIONS. Commends the Public Administration Institute Student Association
(PAISA) at Louisiana State University and recognizes April 13, 2017, as the 19
th
annual
PAISA Day at the Louisiana Legislature.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA) at Louisiana
3 State University and to recognize April 13, 2017, as the nineteenth annual PAISA
4 Day at the Louisiana Legislature.
5 WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is the official
6 student organization of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State University; and
7 WHEREAS, the Public Administration Institute Student Association is known as
8 PAISA to students, staff, and alumni of the Public Administration Institute at Louisiana State
9 University; and
10 WHEREAS, the public administration program at Louisiana State University and
11 PAISA prepare graduate students with classes and programs that address issues in
12 government, health care, economics, budgeting, and statistics; and
13 WHEREAS, the public administration curriculum also includes courses in political
14 science and management that focuses on the analytical, quantitative, and management skills
15 needed by today's successful public and private administrators; and
16 WHEREAS, graduates of PAISA have obtained exciting jobs as presidential
17 management interns in various federal agencies, budget analysts for federal, state, and local
18 governments, staff assistants for congress and state legislators, research directors and

1 associates for private think tanks, and administrative positions in health delivery
2 organizations; and
3 WHEREAS, all administrators are vital to the continuing development of our state
4 and country; and
5 WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the students of PAISA for their
6 outstanding accomplishments.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
8 commend the Public Administration Institute Student Association (PAISA), an effective
9 partner of the LSU Public Administration Institute, in developing government managers and
10 leaders, and does hereby recognize April 13, 2017, as the nineteenth annual PAISA Day at
11 the Louisiana Legislature.
12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
13 Cornelius Troy Hall, President of PAISA at Louisiana State University.
