Requires state agencies to include on their website information regarding any properties rented by the agency. (gov sig) 1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION 2 To urge and request the division of administration to request state agencies to publish certain 3 information regarding the lease of nonpublic buildings. 4 WHEREAS, during the 2016 Regular Session of the Legislature, the Legislature in 5 Act No. 66, found and declared that the maximum utilization of state owned or leased 6 buildings is a necessary cost efficiency and, accordingly, further declared that it is incumbent 7 upon and the responsibility of all state agencies to actively conserve, identify, and seek 8 available office space in state owned or leased buildings; and 9 WHEREAS, to provide maximum disclosure to all state agencies and the public, it 10 would be beneficial for the division of administration to request each agency to indicate on 11 their respective websites, information as to whether such agencies lease nonpublic buildings 12 for their operations and, if so, to identify the location and dimensions of such buildings, the 13 ownership of such buildings, the amount spent to lease such buildings, and the amount of 14 underutilized space; and 15 WHEREAS, the division of administration should request that each state agency 16 publish such information within sixty days of leasing such buildings and update such 17 information every sixty days. SCR NO. 48 SLS 17RS-423 ORIGINAL 1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby 2 request the division of administration to request each agency to indicate on their respective 3 websites, information as to whether such agencies lease nonpublic buildings for their 4 operations and, if so, to identify the location and dimensions of such buildings, the 5 ownership of such buildings, the amount spent to lease such buildings, and the amount of 6 underutilized space, and to report to the legislature in a timely manner on the state agency 7 compliance. 8 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the commissioner of administration shall submit 9 a copy of the report to each member of the Senate, each member of the House of 10 Representatives, and the governor on or before September 1, 2017. 11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the 12 governor and the commissioner of administration.
