A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To commend Courtney Lynn Lott on being selected to receive a Women of Excellence
Award and a Louisiana Legislative Caucus Foundation Scholarship.
WHEREAS, Courtney Lynn Lott is the daughter of Timothy and Karen Lott; and
WHEREAS, she attended Mount Carmel Academy high school in New Orleans
where she was a valedictorian, an ambassador, and a member of the student council; and
WHEREAS, Courtney is an industrial engineering major at Louisiana State
University (LSU) and maintains a 3.99 grade point average; and
WHEREAS, as a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, she was director of rituals and
received the honor of Most Outstanding Sophomore; and
WHEREAS, Courtney's other honors include the LSU Academic Scholars Resident
Award, the TOPS Honors Award, the Willow Johnson Memorial Scholarship, and The
Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi; and
WHEREAS, she was recently selected to work on a project with LSU Academic
Affairs to improve the campus tour process, applying statistical analysis and reengineering
tools, and prior to this position, Courtney worked at the LSU Chevron Center, where she
assisted in managing the operations of the engineering studio; and
WHEREAS, she attended an LSU study-abroad program last year, visiting several

corporations in Berlin, Leipzig, and Munich, Germany, as well as Prague, Czech Republic,
which confirmed her desire to pursue a career which focuses on efficiency, quality, and
sustainability, not only for the benefit of the company, but for the workers, the environment,
and all of society; and
WHEREAS, Courtney accepted a position as business analytics intern with ArcBest,
an integrated logistics solution company headquartered in Fort Smith, Arkansas, during the
summer; and
WHEREAS, Courtney is a long-time dancer and her love of ballet continues as she
takes classes at LSU and a studio in Baton Rouge in her spare time; she also has a passion
for mission and volunteer work and is a leader at her church and at Young Life summer
camps; and
WHEREAS, recipients of the Women of Excellence Awards exhibit characteristics
of integrity and professionalism, personify excellence in their area of specialty, and are
committed to community service to better society as a whole; and
WHEREAS, for 2017, there are four categories for the Women of Excellence
Awards: College Women of Excellence, High School Women of Excellence, Louisiana Hero
of Excellence, and Nonprofit of Excellence; and
WHEREAS, the recipients of the 2017 Women of Excellence Awards are being
recognized at the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation's Women of
Excellence Awards & Scholarships Ceremony and Reception on Tuesday, May 9, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Courtney has been named a recipient of a 2017 Women of Excellence
Award in the category of College Women of Excellence and is also a recipient of a
Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship for her accomplishments
and personification of excellence in integrity, character, academics, leadership, and
community service; and
WHEREAS, Courtney merits a sincere and heartfelt measure of commendation for
her dedication to excellence and her outstanding accomplishments, and it is appropriate for
the Legislature of Louisiana to commend Courtney upon receipt of a 2017 Women of
Excellence Award from the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation and a
Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
commend Courtney Lynn Lott upon receipt of a 2017 Women of Excellence Award from
the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation in the category of College Women
of Excellence and the Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus Foundation Scholarship; does
hereby recognize and record for posterity her singular contributions to the citizens of
Louisiana; and does hereby extend enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor
that she brings to her community and the state of Louisiana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
Courtney Lynn Lott.
