SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 87

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Vermilion Catholic High School Lady Eagles upon
being state runner-up in the Division IV state softball championship tournament.
1 A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
2 To commend Vermilion Catholic High School Lady Eagles upon being state runner-up in
3 the Division IV state softball championship tournament.
4 WHEREAS, the Vermilion Catholic High School girls' softball team completed a
5 sensational 2016-2017 season on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in the Division IV state
6 championship game against Cedar Creek School; and
7 WHEREAS, although the Lady Eagles fell short against Cedar Creek School, the
8 unwavering determination of the players merits recognition and celebration; and
9 WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence,
10 and each Lady Eagle deserves recognition for her contributions throughout the season; and
11 WHEREAS, the Vermilion Catholic High School girls' softball team finished the
12 season undefeated in district play and with an overall record of 22-5; and
13 WHEREAS, the softball team's outstanding season upholds the winning tradition of
14 Vermilion Catholic High School, and all alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and
15 distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
17 commend the Vermilion Catholic High School Lady Eagles upon being the state runner-up
18 in the Division IV state softball championship game and does hereby extend best wishes to

1 the players, coaches, and everyone involved in shaping this great softball program as they
2 prepare for continued success in the future.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
4 Vermilion Catholic High School girls' softball head coach, Kim Guidry.
