SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 121

COMMENDAT IONS. Commends the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and
welcomes its members to the state capitol.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and to welcome its members
3 to the state capitol.
4 WHEREAS, the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women (LFRW) is a member
5 of the National Federation of Republican Women, which represents over one hundred
6 thousand Republican women throughout the fifty states; and
7 WHEREAS, chartered in 1953, LFRW is the largest volunteer women's political
8 organization in the state with thirty-nine local clubs statewide and more than one thousand
9 eight hundred members; and
10 WHEREAS, LFRW is a grassroots organization that meets regularly at local,
11 regional, and statewide conferences and conventions; and
12 WHEREAS, LFRW develops and organizes efforts and initiatives that promote,
13 support, and preserve the conservative ideals and principles of the Republican Party at all
14 levels of government; and
15 WHEREAS, the objectives of LFRW are to promote an informed public through
16 political education and activity; increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good
17 government; encourage and facilitate cooperation and communication among local clubs,
18 their members and the LFRW; foster loyalty to the Republican Party and promote its

1 principles and candidates in all elections; and support objectives and policies of the
2 Republican National Committee and work for the election of the national Republican Party
3 nominee; and
4 WHEREAS, in 2017, the LFRW is celebrating its sixty-fourth anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, the members of the LFRW merit a special measure of commendation
6 for their outstanding accomplishments.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
8 does hereby commend the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women and does hereby
9 welcome them, with the utmost respect and admiration, to the state capitol.
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
11 president of the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women.
