2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13 BY SENATOR BARROW A RESOLUTION To commend Kimberly Maria Ducote on her reign as Miss Teen Baton Rouge USA 2016. WHEREAS, Kimberly Maria Ducote has proudly reigned as Miss Teen Baton Rouge USA 2016 by showcasing her beauty, grace, and intelligence, and serving as a role model for teens across the Greater Baton Rouge area; and WHEREAS, Kimberly competed on the state level at the Miss Louisiana Teen USA pageant as a top-five finalist and placed fourth runner-up in a competition that personifies the ambition of elite young ladies of today and tomorrow, and epitomizes the global view of being a twenty-first century role model; and WHEREAS, Kimberly has worn her crown with distinction as the public figure for teen girls; and WHEREAS, she has made numerous appearances around the state serving as a goodwill ambassador, mentor, and advocate to advance and support various entities and nonprofit organizations; and WHEREAS, an active participant in community involvement, Kimberly visited and presented stuffed animals to St. Mary's Residential School for Children, and donated children's books to Children's Hospital in New Orleans; and WHEREAS, Kimberly serves as the assistant director for the Miss Louisiana Queen of Grace pageant benefitting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, participated in the Avoyelles Relay for Life for the American Cancer Association, and partnered with Miss Homewood Teen USA to donate school supplies to the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund following the historic flood in August 2016; and WHEREAS, nothing has been more gratifying, exciting, and memorable for Kimberly than being chosen Miss Teen Baton Rouge USA 2016 and being given the unique opportunity to serve others through this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 13 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Kimberly Maria Ducote, Miss Teen Baton Rouge USA 2016, for her numerous accomplishments and does hereby extend best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
