2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 148 BY SENATOR WALSWORTH A RESOLUTION To commend Norman C. Ferachi for his dedicated service and to congratulate him on a well-deserved retirement. WHEREAS, it is with great pride that Norman C. Ferachi is recognized by the citizens and the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana for a lifetime of dedicated service to his clients and to his government and legislative-related activities, advocacy for numerous nonprofit organizations, and for his selfless volunteerism and numerous achievements throughout his career; and WHEREAS, Norman Ferachi has provided over four decades of governmental service working for the betterment of the state of Louisiana; and WHEREAS, his outstanding government consultation and effective leadership have served numerous organizations; and WHEREAS, he is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and the Louisiana State University School of Journalism; and WHEREAS, he is an exemplary citizen of Louisiana working tirelessly to advocate in the Louisiana Legislature representing the Louisiana Beverage Association, the Louisiana Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors, the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police, and numerous other organizations; and WHEREAS, he was the founding executive director of the Louisiana Law Enforcement Executive Management Institute; and WHEREAS, he has worked tirelessly as a volunteer to better his community and state; and WHEREAS, he is a member of the Louisiana State Parks and Recreation Commission, and has served on the board of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, the board of Friends of Oakley, and the board of the Julius Freyhan Foundation, the West Feliciana Tourist Commission, and numerous other boards and commissions; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 148 ENROLLED WHEREAS, he has authored Vanishing Louisiana and Lost Louisiana, and he coauthored St. Francisville and West Feliciana Parish; and WHEREAS, the success of the state of Louisiana, the strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of American society depend in great measure on talented, intelligent, dedicated, hardworking men like Norman C. Ferachi. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express gratitude to Norman C. Ferachi for his lifetime of service and many achievements, and does congratulate him upon on his much deserved retirement and wish him great success in all his future endeavors.
