SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 153
BY SENATORS WARD AND BARROW 
CONDOLENCES.  Expresses sincere condolences on the passing of Ronald L. Nolan Jr.
1	A RESOLUTION
2 To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of
3 Louisiana upon the passing of Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Nolan Jr. of Denham Springs,
4 Louisiana.
5 WHEREAS, it is with great sorrow that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
6 has learned of the passing of Ronnie Nolan on May 6, 2017; and
7 WHEREAS, Ronnie exemplified the meaning of joie de vivre, the joy of living, and
8 he experienced a century's worth of happiness during his fifty-one years on this earth; and 
9 WHEREAS, Ronnie Nolan was a generous soul whose love of family and friends
10 was of the utmost importance in his life; and
11 WHEREAS, Ronnie was a loving husband to his wife Kelli, who shall miss his
12 affectionate nature, creativity, patience, and gregarious personality; and 
13 WHEREAS, he was a devoted father who assured each of his children that he adored
14 them and praised their unique characteristics; and
15 WHEREAS, he worked tirelessly for the benefit of others and devoted his life to the
16 unselfish service of his Christian faith; and
17 WHEREAS, Ronnie was a talented musician gifted with the ability to play almost
18 any musical instrument, and he praised God in song at the Live Oak Methodist Church in

1 Watson, Louisiana; and
2 WHEREAS, Ronnie imparted some of his musical abilities to his children,
3 particularly Sophie and Presley; and
4 WHEREAS, as a vocalist, Ronnie also sang with local bands including the
5 Guttersharks, Louisiana, Stormy, and New Vintage; and
6 WHEREAS, Ronnie was a dutiful son to his mother, Barbara, and loving brother to
7 his sisters, Ronnell and Rene' Nolan; and
8 WHEREAS, he possessed a rapier wit and loved nothing better than to make
9 everyone around him laugh with zany pranks and parody song lyrics; and 
10 WHEREAS, Ronnie had great compassion for his fellow man and acted as mentor,
11 confidant, spiritual counselor, and friend to anyone who needed his assistance; and 
12 WHEREAS, he worked tirelessly for the benefit of others, he devoted his life to the
13 unselfish service of God as a true steward of Christian faith and fellowship; and by sharing
14 his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he led others to find peace and redemption; and 
15 WHEREAS, on May 6, 2017, Ronnie Nolan passed peacefully from this life to the
16 next, secure in his own salvation; and
17 WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his father Ronald L. Nolan Sr., his
18 grandfather Doyle L. Nolan, and his grandmother Minnie Mae Nolan; and 
19 WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife Kelli and their children Maggie Mae Nolan,
20 Hannah Lee Nolan Dufour, Sophie Alexandra Nolan, and Presley Doyle Nolan; his mother
21 Barbara Nolan, his sisters Ronnell and Rene' Nolan, his extended family, and a multitude of
22 friends; and
23 WHEREAS, upon his untimely death, the community has lost a unique individual,
24 who leaves an indelible mark upon the lives of all those who knew him and benefitted from
25 his counsel and generosity of spirit; and
26 WHEREAS, although Ronnie Nolan has been taken from our midst all too soon, yet
27 he will be remembered for his devotion to family, his friendly demeanor, his smile, his
28 kindness to others, his courage, and his steadfast dedication to his God and to his
29 community.
30 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana

1 does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the passing of Ronald Lee
2 "Ronnie" Nolan Jr. 
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
4 family of Ronnie Nolan.
