2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 153 BY SENATORS WARD AND BARROW A RESOLUTION To express the sincere and heartfelt condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the passing of Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Nolan Jr. of Denham Springs, Louisiana. WHEREAS, it is with great sorrow that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana has learned of the passing of Ronnie Nolan on May 6, 2017; and WHEREAS, Ronnie exemplified the meaning of joie de vivre, the joy of living, and he experienced a century's worth of happiness during his fifty-one years on this earth; and WHEREAS, Ronnie Nolan was a generous soul whose love of family and friends was of the utmost importance in his life; and WHEREAS, Ronnie was a loving husband to his wife Kelli, who shall miss his affectionate nature, creativity, patience, and gregarious personality; and WHEREAS, he was a devoted father who assured each of his children that he adored them and praised their unique characteristics; and WHEREAS, he worked tirelessly for the benefit of others and devoted his life to the unselfish service of his Christian faith; and WHEREAS, Ronnie was a talented musician gifted with the ability to play almost any musical instrument, and he praised God in song at the Live Oak Methodist Church in Watson, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Ronnie imparted some of his musical abilities to his children, particularly Sophie and Presley; and WHEREAS, as a vocalist, Ronnie also sang with local bands including the Guttersharks, Louisiana, Stormy, and New Vintage; and WHEREAS, Ronnie was a dutiful son to his mother, Barbara, and loving brother to his sisters, Ronnell and Rene' Nolan; and Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 153 ENROLLED WHEREAS, he possessed a rapier wit and loved nothing better than to make everyone around him laugh with zany pranks and parody song lyrics; and WHEREAS, Ronnie had great compassion for his fellow man and acted as mentor, confidant, spiritual counselor, and friend to anyone who needed his assistance; and WHEREAS, he worked tirelessly for the benefit of others, he devoted his life to the unselfish service of God as a true steward of Christian faith and fellowship; and by sharing his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he led others to find peace and redemption; and WHEREAS, on May 6, 2017, Ronnie Nolan passed peacefully from this life to the next, secure in his own salvation; and WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his father Ronald L. Nolan Sr., his grandfather Doyle L. Nolan, and his grandmother Minnie Mae Nolan; and WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife Kelli and their children Maggie Mae Nolan, Hannah Lee Nolan Dufour, Sophie Alexandra Nolan, and Presley Doyle Nolan; his mother Barbara Nolan, his sisters Ronnell and Rene' Nolan, his extended family, and a multitude of friends; and WHEREAS, upon his untimely death, the community has lost a unique individual, who leaves an indelible mark upon the lives of all those who knew him and benefitted from his counsel and generosity of spirit; and WHEREAS, although Ronnie Nolan has been taken from our midst all too soon, yet he will be remembered for his devotion to family, his friendly demeanor, his smile, his kindness to others, his courage, and his steadfast dedication to his God and to his community. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the passing of Ronald Lee "Ronnie" Nolan Jr. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Ronnie Nolan.
