2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 16 BY SENATOR BARROW A RESOLUTION To commend Stacey Richard on her accomplishments and contributions as executive director of the Mrs. Louisiana Pageant, the Miss Baton Rouge Pageant, and the Miss Capital City Pageant. WHEREAS, Stacey Richard founded the Miss Baton Rouge and the Mrs. Louisiana America Pageant organizations in 2003 and 2008, respectively, to showcase the beauty, grace, and intelligence of diverse young ladies and married women from across Louisiana; and WHEREAS, the organizations are committed to providing quality pageants that epitomize the traditions of fairness, professionalism, and character; and WHEREAS, the organizations offer a once in a lifetime experience and make the dreams of many outstanding young ladies and married women a reality; and WHEREAS, additionally, the organizations afford each reigning queen the opportunity to give back to their communities by establishing platforms that positively affect various entities and nonprofit organizations; and WHEREAS, the women serve their communities as goodwill ambassadors, mentors, and act as advocates to support their platforms; and WHEREAS, through her efforts, Stacey Richard has afforded many women in Louisiana the opportunity to showcase their talent and leadership skills, and to foster goodwill and make a positive impact in their communities. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Stacey Richard on her accomplishments and contributions as executive director of the Mrs. Louisiana Pageant, Miss Baton Rouge Pageant, and Miss Capital City Pageant and does hereby wish her continued success in the future.
