SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 175

A RESOLUTION
To urge and request the Senate Fiscal Affairs staff to provide to each member of the Senate
annually a report of all new statutory dedications created during the most recent
regular session of the legislature.
WHEREAS, present law provides for numerous statutorily created dedications for
a variety of purposes and uses; and
WHEREAS, in order to fulfill the duties and responsibilities associated with the
Senate's consideration and passage of legislative instruments appropriating monies for the
ordinary operating expenses of all three branches of state government, it is necessary to
obtain up-to-date information on statutorily created dedications, and such information shall
include the identifying number of the legislative act, the revenue source of the dedicated
funds, the entity receiving the dedicated funds, and the anticipated funding level.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby urge and request the Senate Fiscal Affairs staff to provide each member of the
Senate annually a report of all statutory dedications created during the most recent regular
session of the legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report include the identifying number of the
legislative act, the revenue source of the dedicated funds, the entity receiving the dedicated
funds, and the anticipated funding level.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the report shall be completed and distributed to
the members of the Senate no later than September first of each year, beginning
September 1, 2017.
