COMMENDAT IONS. Commends Hunter Williams on being named the 2017 American
Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Hunter Williams on being named the 2017 American Athletic Conference
3 Co-Player of the Year.
4 WHEREAS, a star player on the Tulane Green Waves baseball team, Hunter
5 Williams has just completed his fourth and final year and earned the title, 2017 American
6 Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year; and
7 WHEREAS, a former standout from West Monroe High School where he played first
8 base and catcher and helped lead the Rebels baseball team to a semifinals finish in the state
9 playoffs and earned All-District and All-Region honors his senior year; and
10 WHEREAS, at Tulane, Hunter Williams has become known as one of the Green
11 Wave's best hitters and ended the season with a .357 batting average, the second-highest in
12 the conference, a career-high ten home runs, 40 RBI's, and a .570 slugging percentage; and
13 WHEREAS, in addition to being outstanding on the baseball field, he has managed
14 to maintain a 4.0 grade point average in neuroscience and has been accepted into Tulane
15 University School of Medicine; and
16 WHEREAS, his achievements on and off the field have rightly earned Hunter
17 Williams congratulations for all his hard work.
18 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana

1 does hereby commend and congratulate Hunter Williams on being named the 2017
2 American Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year.
3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
4 Hunter Williams.
