2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 214 BY SENATOR WALSWORTH A RESOLUTION To commend Hunter Williams on being named the 2017 American Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year. WHEREAS, a star player on the Tulane Green Waves baseball team, Hunter Williams has just completed his fourth and final year and earned the title, 2017 American Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year; and WHEREAS, a former standout from West Monroe High School where he played first base and catcher and helped lead the Rebels baseball team to a semifinals finish in the state playoffs and earned All-District and All-Region honors his senior year; and WHEREAS, at Tulane, Hunter Williams has become known as one of the Green Wave's best hitters and ended the season with a .357 batting average, the second highest in the conference, a career-high ten home runs, 40 RBI's, and a .570 slugging percentage; and WHEREAS, in addition to being outstanding on the baseball field, he has managed to maintain a 4.0 grade point average in neuroscience and has been accepted into Tulane University School of Medicine; and WHEREAS, his achievements on and off the field have rightly earned Hunter Williams congratulations for all his hard work. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Hunter Williams on being named the 2017 American Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year.
