2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32 BY SENATOR LUNEAU A RESOLUTION To commend and congratulate Grambling State University Assistant Football Coach Eric Dooley on being named by the American Football Coaches Association as Football Championship Subdivision Assistant Coach of the Year. WHEREAS, Grambling State University Offensive Coordinator Eric Dooley has been the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Assistant Coach of the Year for the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level; and WHEREAS, Coach Dooley doubles as the Tigers' wide receivers coach and is one of the top coordinators in the country; and WHEREAS, the third-year Grambling assistant has led the Tigers to the No. 4 ranked offense in the country in both total yards (505.1) and points per game (44.0); and WHEREAS, Grambling's offense is one of the primary reasons the Tigers completed the 2016 season with a record of 12-1, and captured the Southwestern Athletic Conference title and the HBCU national championship; and WHEREAS, Coach Dooley is a twenty-two year coaching veteran who spent time in the SWAC at Southern University before joining Coach Broderick Fobbs' staff at Grambling in 2013; and WHEREAS he serves on the AFCA's registration committee and has volunteered throughout his career, working with the Boy Scouts, Salvation Army, and Girl Scouts, among others. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and congratulate Grambling State University Assistant Football Coach Eric Dooley on being named by the American Football Coaches Association as Football Championship Subdivision Assistant Coach of the Year.
