SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 37

SENATE. Recognizes the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell and designates April 2-8, 2017, as
"Junior Auxiliary Week" at the Louisiana Senate.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To recognize the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell and to designate April 2-8, 2017, as Junior
3 Auxiliary Week at the Louisiana Senate.
4 WHEREAS, the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell, a chapter of the seventy-six year old
5 National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc., represents a serious endeavor on the part
6 of women to be active and constructive participants in the community and to assume
7 responsible leadership in meeting community needs; and
8 WHEREAS, the mission of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc. is to
9 encourage member chapters to render charitable services which are beneficial to the general
10 public, with particular emphasis on children, and to cooperate with other organizations
11 performing similar services; and
12 WHEREAS, the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell is a nonprofit service organization made
13 up of women committed to serving the greater Slidell community; and
14 WHEREAS, those women are active leaders in the community who strive to focus
15 its service projects on children, families, and elderly in the area; and
16 WHEREAS, the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell developed nine service projects that
17 touch children of all ages throughout the community and impact entire families; and
18 WHEREAS, those projects include A Day for Girls' Health, Backpacks4Kids, Slidell

1 Cyber Seniors, Happy Feet, Hearts United, Juniors in Service, Know Your Child, Literacy
2 Liaisons, and Spelling Bee; and
3 WHEREAS, the members of the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell, through their fifty-one
4 years of community service, have touched the lives of thousands of people in the Slidell
5 community and are committed to being active and constructive participants in the public life
6 of their city and its residents.
7 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
8 does hereby recognize the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell for its commitment to serving the
9 greater Slidell community and does hereby designate April 2-8, 2017, as Junior Auxiliary
10 Week at the Louisiana Senate.
11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
12 Junior Auxiliary of Slidell.
