SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 74

COMMENDATIONS. Commends Mabel Guillotte Alexander upon the occasion of her
100
th
birthday.
1 A RESOLUTION
2 To commend Mabel Guillotte Alexander upon the occasion of her one hundredth birthday.
3 WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper that the Senate of the Legislature of
4 Louisiana congratulates Mabel Guillotte Alexander on the achievement of this milestone in
5 life and honors her as an active and productive citizen of the state of Louisiana; and
6 WHEREAS, Mabel Guillotte Alexander was born on May 3, 1917, in Iberia Parish
7 and grew up in Lydia, Louisiana; and
8 WHEREAS, Mabel and her first husband had five loving children from their union
9 and after his passing, she met T.C. Alexander; and
10 WHEREAS, T.C.'s first wife had passed away as well and three devoted children
11 were born from their union; and
12 WHEREAS, Mabel and T.C. were married and moved to Jennings, Louisiana in 1970
13 where T.C. pastored the First Pentecostal Church of Jennings for more than forty years; and
14 WHEREAS, together, Mabel and T.C. had eight children, thirty grandchildren, sixty-
15 one great-grandchildren, and thirty-three great-great-grandchidren; and
16 WHEREAS, Mabel currently resides in Hathaway, Louisiana; and
17 WHEREAS, Mabel Guillotte Alexander merits a special measure of commendation
18 and recognition for the tremendous pride, kindness, and sense of purpose that she brings to

1 her family, friends, community, and state.
2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
3 does hereby commend and congratulate Mabel Guillotte Alexander on the occasion of her
4 one hundredth birthday on May 3, 2017, does hereby recognize the extraordinary life she has
5 lived thus far and for the contributions she has made to her community, and wish for her a
6 full measure of happiness in the years to come.
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to
8 Mabel Guillotte Alexander.
