CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences on the death of Larry Fontenot of Ville Platte
1 A RESOLUTION
2To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Larry
3 Fontenot.
4 WHEREAS, it is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the members of the House
5of Representatives received word of the transition on February 10, 2018, of Larry Fontenot
6to his eternal home, at the age of seventy-nine; and
7 WHEREAS, born on May 7, 1938, Mr. Fontenot was a resident of Ville Platte who
8was known as a hard working and humble man; and
9 WHEREAS, Larry Fontenot devoted his life to his family and to his church, where
10he served as a deacon and, like his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, made a living using his
11hands; and
12 WHEREAS, left to cherish his memory are his wife, Katherine Fontenot; his
13children, Cassandra and Anthony Fontenot, Cassie Williams, Rachael, Anthony, and Kossit
14Gallow, and Franscho and Terrance Searile; his sister, Margret Morris; his brother, Arthur
15Fontenot, Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
16 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
17Legislature of Louisiana does hereby extend deepest sympathies to the family of Larry
18Fontenot and does hereby offer sincerest hopes and prayers for comfort and peace to those
19who mourn.
20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
21to the family of Larry Fontenot.
