HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 7
BY REPRESENTATIVE BARRAS
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends and expresses appreciation to the Honorable Chris
Broadwater for his outstanding legislative service and recognizes his contributions
to his district and the state
1	A RESOLUTION
2To commend the Honorable Chris Broadwater and to express enduring gratitude for his
3 outstanding contributions to Tangipahoa Parish and the state of Louisiana,
4 particularly during his tenure as a distinguished member of the Louisiana House of
5 Representatives.
6 WHEREAS, Chris Broadwater is a notable public servant who has served with
7excellence as a state representative since taking office in 2012, during which time he has
8fully used every opportunity to serve the citizens of his district and the state in an honorable
9and dedicated manner; and
10 WHEREAS, Representative Broadwater earned a juris doctor and a bachelor of civil
11law from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law; and
12 WHEREAS, Representative Broadwater has been a proud member of the Louisiana
13Republican Legislative Delegation; and
14 WHEREAS, Representative Broadwater's diligent committee service has included
15serving as vice-chairman of the House Committee on Labor and Industrial Relations and
16serving as a member of the House Committee on Education, the House Committee on
17Insurance, the House Committee on Ways and Means, the House Executive Committee, and
18the Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay; and
19 WHEREAS, he was recognized by the Louisiana Industrial Development Executives
20Association in 2016 for his work to support economic development during the 2015 Regular

1Session of the Louisiana Legislature; that same year, the Southwest Louisiana Economic
2Development Alliance awarded Representative Broadwater the LegisGator Chairman's
3Award for supporting business initiatives; and
4 WHEREAS, during his time in the House of Representatives, Representative
5Broadwater has worked on and supported many important pieces of legislation; he was a
6tenacious advocate for Southeastern Louisiana University and exemplified the highest ideals
7of the civil, bipartisan legislator; and
8 WHEREAS, as he prepares to embark on the next exciting and productive chapter
9of his life, Representative Broadwater merits a sincere measure of commendation for his
10singular contributions and the exemplary strides he has taken as an exceptional member of
11the Louisiana House of Representatives.
12 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
13Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the Honorable Chris Broadwater, hereby
14extends honor and recognition to Representative Broadwater for his outstanding
15accomplishments, particularly during his six-year legacy as a member of the Louisiana
16House of Representatives which was marked by his uncompromising endeavor to improve
17the welfare of his constituents in Tangipahoa Parish and the citizens of the state of
18Louisiana, and hereby pays tribute to Chris Broadwater for the generous and effective way
19in which he has dedicated his intelligence and his energy to the service of his family, friends,
20community, and state.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives hereby expresses
22enduring gratitude to Representative Broadwater for his service to the citizens of Louisiana,
23as evidenced by his superlative achievements as a member of this distinguished body, and
24does hereby extend to Representative Broadwater the best wishes of all the members for
25continued prosperity and success in his future endeavors.
26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
27to the Honorable Chris Broadwater.
