Commends Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau on her 80 th birthday. 1 A RESOLUTION 2 To commend Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau on the occasion of her eightieth birthday. 3 WHEREAS, Myrna was born on Tuesday, July 5, 1938, to the late Jeffery C. 4 Burnaman and the late Laura Belle Rush, one of four children, including sister Maxie Faye 5 McNeal and brothers Tommy Joe Burnaman and Joseph Michael "Shorty" Burnaman; and 6 WHEREAS, she graduated in 1957 from Buckeye High School in Deville, Louisiana; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, Myrna was married to the late Merritt L. "M.L." Luneau Jr., a marriage 9 which existed for forty-five years and to this union two sons were born, Terry Ray Luneau 10 and Senator Wendell Jay Luneau; and 11 WHEREAS, she worked with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) as 12 a credit representative for twenty years in Alexandria, Louisiana, at Huey P. Long Hospital 13 in Pineville, Louisiana, for five years, beginning as an account clerk I and ending as an 14 account clerk III; and at Central State Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana, as an account clerk III 15 and she retired as an account manager I after twenty-five years of service with the state; and 16 WHEREAS, today her family includes Terry Ray Luneau and his wife who have two 17 boys, Nicolas and his wife Jayme; and Zachary and his fiancé Annalise; Senator Wendell 18 Jay Luneau and his wife Carmen who have two children, Merritt and Wendell Jay Jr., many Page 1 of 2 SR NO. 22 SLS 182ES-213 ORIGINAL 1 more children who have been "adopted" along the way; and one great grandchild, Gavin Ray 2 Luneau, who was born on June 29, 2017; and 3 WHEREAS, Myrna has been blessed beyond measure and cherishes spending time 4 with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild; and 5 WHEREAS, Myrna Luneau is a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother 6 and merits a special measure of commendation and recognition for the tremendous pride and 7 honor that she brings to all who know and love her. 8 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana 9 does hereby commend Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau upon the celebration of her eightieth 10 birthday; does hereby recognize and record for posterity the extraordinary life she has lived 11 in the eight decades since her birth; and does hereby extend to her every good wish for 12 health and happiness in the years to come. 13 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to 14 Myrna Loy Burnaman Luneau.
